October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Breast Cancer Awareness Month has been celebrated every October since the nineties.
It is called 'Pink October' as people around the world adopt the pink color and display a pink ribbon to raise awareness about breast health.
The "Pink Month" is a month where efforts to educate those concerned about the disease, including early identification and signs and symptoms associated.
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women in Armenia.
Just being a woman and growing older are the two biggest risk factors for breast cancer. Those factors are difficult to change, but you can change other risk factors, such as smoking, drinking alcohol, and not exercising regularly.
Regular breast self-exams, an annual exam by your doctor, and yearly mammograms are important tools in breast cancer detection — especially early detection, when cancers may be more treatable.
